Riviera is a collection of 101 sun-soaked recipes from the coast of France and Italy — the unfussy, generous dishes Mélanie grew up on, guided by her grandmother Mymo's kitchen rules: let the market decide the menu, make food people will want to eat, follow recipes loosely and adapt them a lot, and share generously. Most recipes use 10 ingredients or fewer. None require professional training or a fancy kitchen. Just good olive oil, seasonal vegetables, and the desire to bring people together around a table.

Mélanie Masarin is a culinary enthusiast and entrepreneur best known as the founder of Ghia, a nonalcoholic aperitif brand praised by the New York Times, Vogue, and many more, with products in over 3,500 retailers and restaurants. Now she is channeling her expertise and upbringing in the South of France into an inviting cookbook, bringing the vibrant, sun-soaked cuisine of the region to a U.S. audience. Her recipes focus on simplicity and bold flavors, making Mediterranean dishes accessible to American home cooks. Mélanie’s background in brand storytelling and hospitality enriches her approach, blending her passion for food with a commitment to joyful and somewhat nonchalant communal dining. Bitter, citrusy, and bright.

Our signature profile is complex and both bright and bitter, akin to an Italian amaro - we like to say it tastes like summer on the rocks. Sweet on the intake, with a fresh kick of Japanese yuzu, and the invigorating notes of lemon balm, orange and rosemary extract, with a slightly bitter and savory finish.
